Terms and Conditions

Use of the Monitor Card You agree that the Monitor Card is the property of Lake Macquarie City Libraries Top Up Portal and may be confiscated as a result of inappropriate use. Use of the Monitor Card is subject to all terms, conditions, rules and regulations. Your card and related accounts are non-transferable; any misuse or illegal transactions can result in privilege suspension and/or possible judicial action. Except as provided below, you are responsible for the usage of your card.

Monitor Card Accounts The Monitor Card Account is an optional account of pre-deposited funds accessed by you for products and services. Funds cannot be withdrawn from the card account at any time. Funds deposited to the Monitor Card Account shall be applied against amounts debited to your Monitor Card Account for goods and services purchased at points of sale. You understand and agree that the Monitor Card is not a credit card, nor can it be used to obtain cash or cash advances from the account under any circumstances. If your Monitor Card Account balance goes below zero as a result of the system or one of its readers being off-line, you remain responsible for payment of those purchases.

Procedures for Lost, Stolen, or Replacement Cards Report immediately any lost or stolen card, or unauthorised card usage to Lake Macquarie City Libraries Top Up Portal during the business hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Alternatively, you may suspend activity to your Monitor Card Account through the My Monitor website. You are responsible for all usage of the card prior to proper notification to the Monitor Card Office or suspending your card online. At least one piece of the card with identifiable information must be submitted to qualify as damaged.

Documentation of Activity You can request a receipt at the time of purchase if the point of sale terminal is equipped to provide a receipt. Some locations including copiers, printing stations and vending readers are not capable of providing receipts. The remaining balance in your Monitor Account is displayed at every point of sale terminal each time the account is accessed. The cashier, at any location accepting the Monitor Card, may be asked to verify an account balance. Occasionally the account balance is not available at a card reader. During these times, you can check your Monitor Account balances online at the My Monitor web site.

Error Resolution Procedures If you feel a charge has been transacted on your Monitor Card Account which you did not authorise, you must notify the corresponding Department as soon as the non-authorised transaction is discovered. Include information on the date and amount of the transaction, as well as any other information you feel is necessary to help the staff investigate the claim.
